Study of Metal Etching Behavior Using an Electrochemical Polarization Technique

As part of a long range study to develop an electrochemical measuring technique of etching rate (etching current) of metals, we carried out potentiostatic polarization measurements of several metals in ferric chloride etchant. The aims of this study are: Interpretation of etching mechanism in terms of electrochemical process Measurement of the absolute value of etching rate given by an etching current.
