A Comparison of PCMI Southern California Chapter Members
The controversi~”Metal Products and Machinery”
(MP&M) effluent proposals are the result of a lawsuit
filed by the NatiOjal Reserve Defense Council and
Public Citizen, Inc. (NRDC et al v. Reilly, Civ. No. 892980)
against the ‘.5. EPA, because of the Agency’s
“violation” of the d:lean Water Act. The Clean Water
Act requires that inrustry effluent standards must be
reviewed and ame~ded every four years which EPA
failed to achieve. Consent Decree in the litigation
was entered by the U.S. District Court for the District of
Columbia on January 31,1992.
