Among the various technologies available for the production of perforated flat metal products, such as stamping, spark erosion, laser cutting, mechanical milling, etc., two technologies deserve a better knowledge because of their unique combination of a high quality level with respect to accuracy and reproducibility combined with relatively low production costs. These two are electroforming and chemical milling. This paper will give you an impression of both: their technical possibilities, their mutual basis, their typical differences, as well as the limiting conditions connected with either of both technologies. Finally, we will take a look at the costs of precision.
