Microparts: Applications and Tolerances
PCM and PEF have similar backgrounds, both use the photolithograhic process. However the parts that are produced by the PEF process are the complete opposite of parts produced by PCM, this is because the substrate is not etched away to produce a part, but the part is grown in a resist mould, molecule by molecule. This presentation shows that if the PEF process is pushed to its current limits, it can produce parts with very small features, to highly accurate tolerances. It moves the potential of engineering micro metal parts to a different level of capability.
