Raising the Profile of Process Related Training Within the PCMI
The purpose of this paper, presented at the Spring
2008 PCMI Conference, is to act as a catalyst, creating
a debate to consider if a greater use of training can
generate opportunities for increased business. Should
the PCMI introduce and adopt a program of international
PCM training courses which the Institute would
endorse or accredit?
An answer to the immediate question of why this should be
done or what value it would bring, through application of
the principles of lean manufacture, it would be: to ensure
that the PCMI utilises all resources and capabilities currently
available, in order to deliver the highest levels of value to
its member companies.
