  • PCMI Spring 2016 Conference News

    PCMI held its biannual International Technical Conference in Stuttgart, Germany at the Hotel Monrepos. The Conference ran from May 7 – 11, 2016. The technical sessions were conducted on Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10.

    Another highlight of the conference was the day day-long pre-conference tour on Sunday, May 8. Ätztechnik Herz GmbH & Co. KG hosted a tour of various historic sites and museums, as well as a visit to Frühlingsfest, a spring festival in Cannstatter Wasen.

     

     

     

     

  • Professor David Allen’s New Book

    Professor Dave AllenProfessor Allen’s new book “Photochemical Machining and Photoelectroforming” has just been published. The book includes some material from his old book “The Principles and Practice of Photochemical Machining and Photoetching” published in 1986 but now out of print.

    However, the book has been thoroughly revised and updated and also includes new Chapters covering phototooling, metal preparation, photoresists, ferric chloride, cupric chloride, etchant regeneration, etchants for precious metals, stainless steels, magnesium, titanium, difficult-to-etch materials, aluminium, chromium, molybdenum and tungsten, process control, PCM products, electrolytic photoetching, photoelectroforming and its products. The book includes an appendix containing tables of ferric chloride concentrations and a comprehensive index.

    The 237-page book is printed in full colour on glossy paper and perfect softbound in a laminated cover for durability. It is available for sale at £60 (UK pounds sterling) or $100 (US dollars) plus postage and packing.

  • Request for Speakers for Fall 2015 Conference

    The PCMI Fall 2015 Committee is looking for speakers to make technical presentations at the Fall Conference to be held in Toronto, Canada. The technical sessions will be held on October 13 and 14, 2015.

     

    If you have an interesting program idea related to the photo chemical machining process, you are invited to submit an abstract proposal for consideration by the PCMI Fall Conference Committee.  If selected as a conference speaker, you will gain visibility; contribute to the pcm industry and to the educational component of the conference.

     

    The Conference Committee will evaluate proposed programs based on the relevance to the industry, the presentation focus, the topic and speaker qualifications. To be considered as a speaker your presentation must be educational in nature and not a sales presentation.

     

    Deadline for submission is August 7, 2015.
