About the Photo Chemical Machining Institute
The PCMI was founded in 1967. Quickly added to the membership list were companies from USA, England, Germany and Japan. This was the beginning of what is now a truly an international organization. Today we have members in 19 countries on 6 continents, representing what has become a multimillion dollar industry.
International presence
There are now members in Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
Training and education
The PCMI is helping member companies grow through our technical sessions and the articles that appear in the PCMI Journal. Technical sessions are held in the US , Europe and Asia. The Journal is published twice a year and contains papers delivered at these sessions as well as articles of common interest drawn from other sources. All members are urged to submit articles for publication.
What makes us different
PCMI is different from most trade associations and professional societies because it represents a broad cross-section of all segments of the photo chemical machining and electroforming industry’s technology. It includes companies that are manufacturers and companies that are users of photo chemically machined parts, as well as companies that supply raw materials, equipment and services used to produce its products.
Our members
The majority of member companies are classified as “regular” members. These are companies that manufacture parts for resale using the photo chemical machining process. Membership within PCMI is categorized as follows: Regular Membership; Associate Membership and Technical Membership. Representatives from all companies serve on various committees and are eligible to serve as an officer or as a member of the Board of Directors.
