Pre-Conference Tour
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Richmond

Step off the beaten path and experience Richmond in a way most visitors—and even many locals—never do. This 90-minute guided walking tour through downtown offers a lively, story-driven exploration of one of America’s most historically rich cities, blending iconic landmarks with hidden gems, vibrant street art, and unforgettable tales.
Starting at the Marriott and winding through the heart of downtown, you’ll discover how Richmond’s architecture, public spaces, and murals reflect centuries of transformation; from its role in shaping American politics and culture to its modern-day creative revival. Along the way, your guide will bring the city to life through engaging storytelling that goes far beyond textbook history.
This isn’t your typical historical tour. While you’ll gain insight into the major events and influences that forged Richmond’s identity, the real magic lies in the unexpected: the bold personalities, quirky anecdotes, and lesser-known stories that reveal the city’s character and charm.
The tour concludes at Triple Crossing Brewing Company, providing a convenient and casual setting to continue the conversation and connect with fellow attendees. This informal post-tour gathering offers a great opportunity to network with fellow attendees. Please note that food and beverages are not included in the tour.
