Control of Negative Working Electro-depositable (ED) Photoresist Baths
The electrodeposition of organic materials (also
known as electrocoating or electrophoretic coating)
is a technique well known in a variety of industries.
It was first applied broadly to the underpalnting of
car bodies and currently 25,000 – 30,000 tones are
used annually in this industry. Recently however
new applications have been found for this new
technology, the latest of which is in the area of
photoresists. Already this technique is finding use as
a primary imaging resist in printed circuit boards
(PCB’s), in the manufacture of 3D molded
interconnects and for depositing elch resists for
photochemical machining.
