A Process to Measure the Resolution Capabilities of PCB Imaging
The use of new imaging equipment in conjunction with older machines can cause confusion within the imaging department regarding the firm’s ability to resolve fine lines. Obviously. newer equipment can perform better than older, vintage equipment. 1be answer to the problem has generally been to junk old equipment and–at great expense–purchase newer models. Keeping the older machines requires that artwork generated is designed to conform to the lesser and older-performing imaging machines. The problem we faced at Chemart is that we purchased a Calight 1600 but continued to use the older ORC 201 B and the Calight DMVL930. These machines were technologically at least 10 to 15 years old.
